About Valley Accident Law and Our Founder

Valley Accident Law was founded by Charles Paglialunga, Esq. We are a Scottsdale law firm for people who have been hurt and are now dealing with insurance companies, medical bills and a lot of questions. Here is how Charles describes his work:

“For the last 32 years I have been an advocate for those with claims against insurance companies, drug companies, and medical device manufacturers. Your case matters to me and I treat you the way I would want my own family treated if they called an attorney. I enjoy answering questions and explaining how the process works. I believe the cases I handle make everyone safer by providing justice for my clients and education and accountability for those who injure them. Many of the cases we have handled involved very bad behavior by corporate defendants and individuals who likely deliberately concealed information about how their products could harm people. It’s important that bad actors compensate the people they harm.”

How We Approach Your Claim

Our personal injury law office is at 5635 N Scottsdale Rd, Suite 170, Scottsdale, AZ 85250. When you call, you are talking with people who want to understand what happened to you before they tell you anything about the law.

Charles puts the goal this way: “I work hard for my clients so they can receive the full justice the law allows. I believe deserving cases should be resolved and settled as quickly as our judicial system will allow as long as my clients are fully compensated.”

How to Choose a Personal Injury Lawyer

Every injured person is choosing between several firms, and there is no shame in asking hard questions. These are the things we would want to know if we were in your position.

  • Can you reach the attorney you are hiring when you have a question, and will someone explain what is happening in plain language?
  • Does the firm explain its fee agreement in writing, including the percentage and how case costs are handled?
  • Has the lawyer worked on claims like yours, such as a crash, a dog bite, a product injury or the loss of a family member?
  • Will the firm explain your deadlines without pressure, such as the two-year filing deadline for most Arizona injury claims (A.R.S. 12-542(1))?
  • Do you feel comfortable asking the same question twice and getting a patient answer?

Why Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer

Many people wonder why hire a personal injury lawyer at all when an insurance adjuster seems friendly and offers to settle quickly. The honest answer is that the adjuster works for the insurance company, not for you.

Insurance companies and attorneys often negotiate the percentage of fault. Arizona follows a pure comparative fault rule (A.R.S. 12-2505), so your recovery can be reduced by your share of the blame but is not barred by a percentage cutoff. That makes the fault percentage a real number with real dollars attached to it, and it is often where a claim is won or lost.

Signing a release or accepting a quick payment will under most circumstances close your case permanently, so it helps to understand your legal rights before you agree to anything. If you believe you were not at fault, make sure you explain this clearly and early. For more on how fault, deadlines and offers work, visit our resources or read about comparative negligence in Arizona.
